About QR Codes
QR (Quick Response) codes encode text, URLs, or data that any smartphone camera can read instantly. Ideal for gift cards, event tickets, product labels, and promotional materials. Higher error correction makes codes resilient to damage or partial obscuring — choose H for printed labels, L for on-screen display.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size QR code do I need?
For print materials (flyers, posters), use Large (512 px) and export at 300 dpi minimum. For digital use (website, email), Medium (256 px) is fine. Small (128 px) is suitable for small label stickers only — avoid very small print sizes as scanning reliability drops.
Which error correction level should I choose?
M (Medium, 15%) is the best all-around choice. Use Q or H if you plan to overlay a logo — higher correction means the code can still scan even if part is obscured. Use L only when space is extremely limited and the code will be printed cleanly.
Can I use a custom colour for my QR code?
Yes — use the Module Colour and Background colour pickers. Ensure strong contrast between the two colours for reliable scanning. Dark module on light background is most reliable. Very low-contrast combinations will fail to scan.
Can I embed a logo in the centre of the QR code?
This generator does not overlay logos automatically. To add a logo, download the SVG, open it in a vector editor (Inkscape, Illustrator), and place your logo in the centre. Use H (30%) error correction to ensure the code still scans with part obscured.
